Board of Directors

Bill Pruitt – President /Executive Director –Bill leads the daily operations (counseling, Bible teaching, community relations, etc.) of New Hope Philly. He is responsible for keeping the God given vision on track and strategic planning of the ministry. He has served at America's Keswick, The Colony of Mercy as a Chaplain, Biblical Counselor and Operations Manager for five years. Prior to being a Chaplain Bill was the Director of Development at America's Keswick responsible for relationship management and fundraising. The Colony of Mercy is the oldest residential Christian Addiction Center for men in the United States, serving over 20,000 men and their families. Bill also served as a volunteer Bible teacher and Chaplain at a New Jersey State Prison. Prior to ministry Bill served as the Vice President of Operations for a large Corporation (Alliance Data Systems) in Dallas, Texas.

 



Thomas R. Day – Treasurer/Director –Tom serves New Hope Philly as an advisor regarding finances, strategic planning & donor development. He assists with Bible teaching and counseling as needed. Tom is a longtime minister in Memphis TN. Through his ministry, Equipping with Encouragement, he focuses on mentoring and discipling men. Tom is a conference speaker, seminar leader, and encourager. He has been married to his wife Kathy for 44 years and they have 2 children and 5 grandchildren.

 





MaryAnn Kiernan MA, BCCC – Secretary/Director –MaryAnn serves as an advisor regarding admin & counseling functions at New Hope Philly. She assists with Bible teaching and counseling as needed. Mary Ann is a graduate of Philadelphia Biblical University and received her Master’s in Christian Counseling at PBU also. She is a Board Certified Christian Counselor with the American Association of Christian Counselors since 2007and recipient of the Denmen Evangelism award for 2014. She currently serves at America’s Keswick as Intake Coordinator and Biblical Counselor at the Colony of Mercy, a 120 day minimum Christian addiction recovery program for men. She has been married for 41 years to her beloved husband and greatest supporter, John. Together they have two married sons, John and his wife Amy and Daniel and his wife Liza. They are proud grandparents to six grandchildren.

 





 Dr. Jim Ellis – Director –Dr. Ellis functions as an ethics and integrity advisor to the President of New Hope Philly. He works to keep us on track with Biblical/Christian principles. He assists with Bible teaching and counseling as needed. Dr. Ellis currently serves as the Dean of Professional and Adult Studies at Arizona Christian University in Phoenix, AZ.  A New Jersey native, he left home at 18 years of age to join the United States Coast Guard which began a 33 year career in the sea services; 26 of those years he served on active duty. He retired as a Navy Chaplain in 2005 and began serving in a local church in Bartlett, TN. Jim joined the faculty at Union University’s Germantown, TN in 2007 as an Assistant Professor of Organizational Leadership and Director of Continuing Studies in 2007. Jim holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Cornerstone University, Grand Rapids MI and a Master of Divinity from Grand Rapids Theological Seminary. He earned his PhD in Organizational Leadership from Regent University in 2004. His passion to share the abundant life Christ offers, combined with his use of humor and keen application, has made him an effective speaker at men and marriage retreats throughout the country. His membership with The International Association of Evangelical Chaplains has given him the opportunity to speak internationally. Jim and his wife Shirley have been married for 35 years. They have 3 daughters.

 




Rosa Lynn Winborne – Director -Rosa functions as an advisory member regarding community/donor development and outreach in SW Philadelphia. Assists with Bible teaching and counseling as needed. Rosa was born in Detroit, Michigan and raised in Western PA. She is currently a resident of South West Philadelphia. She received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial Management Technology from California University of Pennsylvania in 1983, and a Master of Arts in Theology Studies with a concentration in Leadership Effectiveness from Bethel Seminary of the East in 2011. She is a Certified Biblical Counselor, who graduated from Christian Research & Development’s Biblical Counseling Program in 1999. Her husband is her first ministry; in addition to caring for the needs of her family, she is also a teacher, certified through the state to teach Technology to grades K-12. Currently, she teaches Technology at Preparatory Charter High School for Mathematics, Science, Technology and Careers located in South Philadelphia. She is honored and privileged to be the wife of Rev. Dr. Wilbur D. Winborne, Sr. (Pastor at 19th Street Baptist Church Philadelphia) for 25 years. They are parents of three homeschooled children, now all grown: Will, Jr. (24), Yvonne (22), and Novella (19).
